StreamSolutions is one of the few streaming providers to provide access to listener logs for their stream services. The logs provided are direct from the servers giving our customers the opportunity to process them as they need.
Why is logging useful?
In the fast paced world of streaming media there is a need to constantly be aware of changing listener patterns and tastes. Logging has all the statistics a modern broadcaster needs at their disposal to give them an added edge in gaining new as well as keeping current listeners.
The logging service is available for Shoutcast, Icecast, Flash Media & Windows Media.
What are the logs for?
The logs produced are useful to track a variety of information including, but not limited to
- IP Address of the listener
- Date and Time of the connection
- Length of time listener connected for
It should also be noted, that if you have bought a license for streaming copyright media the logs will be needed so you can observe any restrictions, ie. reporting on number of listeners, tracks listened to and for how long.
Each streaming server does produce different style logs containing different information so please see our log service help & support for a detailed breakdown and access to your logs if you have one of our servers.
You can collect your logs from our logging interface 24 hours after the day of completion and are normally held for 90 days.

All you need to do is
add a username and password in the
Stream Panel under the Dj
Panel Controls and use
ftp://logs.streamsolutions.co.uk port 21 to login and collect your logs.
Logs Analysis
Once you have enabled the logs in your control panel you will also have the analysed logs in your logs collection area.
The logs offer the information to give to the authorities and have been tailored to PPL & MCPRS so they are fully UK Compliant.
The information given in the logs analysis is:
- Track Title Analysis
- Country usage
- Listener Agent Usage
- Listener Counts
- Ip Usage
- Subnet Usage
